You know all those fancy on-air graphics and 3D displays CNN (and everyone else) uses? I have an awesome idea for all that tech: emblazon the top donor(s) for each candidate on their suits, soccer uniform style. A little SuperPAC logo on the front, and on the back in big print something like “Team Koch” or “Team Adelson” or “Team Friess.” You could superimpose the donors on the buses, NASCAR-style! If Romney carries a briefcase, add a little “Restoring America’s Future” logo. For candidates with multiple SuperPACs behind them, the networks could come up with different “uniforms” for each state or region, highlighting the SuperPAC spending the most in that market. Think about it – you could convey more information in a single clip (no need to read out the donors each time) and it would finally bring campaigns to a place that justifies the sports-style horse race coverage.
Screw the issues, I’m rooting for Team Adelson! Though, gotta say, I like the ad guys on Team Koch. They’ve got a strong rotation there.
